JDQ 3Spheres/Vancity: Strengthening Social Enterprise
Vancity and JDQ Systems have formed an innovative partnership of a funder and business improvement experts in order to help improve the performance and capacity of social enterprises.
This initiative, entitled “JDQ 3Spheres/Vancity: Strengthening Social Enterprise”, will offer business improvement expertise and financial support to a selected social enterprise in the lower mainland. Our goal is to help that social enterprise better achieve its financial and mission-related goals.
This collaboration is part of JDQ's highly successful 3Spheres of Reciprocity™ program. 3Spheres™ is JDQ's model for the development and sustenance of mutually beneficial relationships between the community, business and academia. It is a paradigm grown from the fundamental understanding that only through the symbiosis of the spheres of Helping, Profiting and Learning can we all thrive. As part of its commitment to strengthening communities, Vancity supports the development of successful social enterprises that combine environmental, social or economic mission-related goals with revenue generation. Vancity invests resources in building individual social enterprises, strengthening the sector, increasing access to markets and creating an enabling environment.
Vancity will provide funding to the selected social enterprise to support the implementation of the business solutions identified by JDQ’s 3Spheres team.
Eligible organizations, those that have already been the recipient of funding from Vancity and/or the Enterprising Nonprofits (ENP) program for social enterprise related activities, will receive a call for proposals during the last week of June 2007.
JDQ will subsequently announce a separate general call for proposals for its Fall 2007 3Spheres of Reciprocity Initiative for Non-Profits. As before, this opportunity will be open to all Lower-Mainland based non-profits who meet the published criteria.
