JDQ's Appreciative Internal Audit seminar

October 19, 2005

Getting More Value From Internal Quality Audits Without Sacrificing Conformance To International Standards

Traditional internal audits fulfill an important need for companies with fresh ISO 9001:2000 implementations but for companies with mature systems an Appreciative Internal Audit system takes a company beyond compliance to excellence. Traditional audits are often an exposé of everything that’s wrong with a company. As such, they can be viewed by those responsible for business processes as a “necessary evil” and a disruption to work.

Based on proven success with clients and 3rd party auditors, JDQ has combined the best of Appreciative Inquiry and Internal Quality Audit expertise to create a new value-added audit experience. This innovative JUMP!Higher™ Appreciative Audit approach helps reveal and enhance what’s right and correct or discard what’s not by building solutions based on the fundamental truth that in every company, department or project, something works.

At this seminar you will discover the power of the innovative and proven Appreciative Internal Audit approach to enhance a core “continual improvement” business process – the Internal Audit System.

Target Audience

Forward thinking quality managers and engineers, ISO 9001 management reps., internal lead auditors, certified lead auditors, and quality consultants that are concerned with the effectiveness of their business management systems, and the quality profession in general.

Upon completion, seminar participants will be able to:

  • Add more value to their internal audit systems by improving company quality management, employee morale and strategic business planning.
  • Use Appreciative Internal Audits to build on existing traditional, and often broken, internal audit systems.
  • Craft Appreciative Audit questions that reveal best practices and encourage genuine enthusiasm in the audit process.
  • Interview auditees using Appreciative Inquiry techniques that leave the auditee actually looking forward to their next audit experience.
  • Use affinity analysis to organize both the negative and abundant positive audit findings.
  • Prepare attention grabbing Appreciative Internal Audit reports for top management.
  • Make their QMS lean without jeopardizing the company’s 3rd party registration status.
