TELUS Bid Management Web Application
TELUS Corporation is one of Canada’s leading telecommunications companies. The Strategic Bid Team (SBT) at TELUS works in partnership with Sales and other key stakeholders in demonstrating TELUS’ key strategic marketing imperatives, and defining and managing the end-to-end bid process for the national sales force.
The SBT had to formalize the bid process and implement a cost-effective support system quickly. David Weiss, Director of the Strategic Bid Team, envisioned a custom, web-based application to support the national team and meet his objectives.
JDQ had established a proven track record with TELUS having successfully completed a number of projects for other business units. JDQ was selected for this assignment based on our reputation within TELUS and our experience in delivering web-based solutions. JDQ:
- worked together with TELUS staff to define complex and evolving requirements employing JDQ’s systems development methodology,
- designed and developed a Bid Tracking web application with user maintained bid “life-cycle” management, application security and standardized reporting,
- created a reporting interface allowing users to generate ad-hoc reports using Crystal Reports,
- provided “train the trainer” sessions and ongoing support.
The Bid Tracking application was implemented on-time and within budget. Bid processes were streamlined and TELUS’ bid win rate increased.
