New 3Spheres Project rewards Social Enterprise Dragons Winner

JDQ Systems Inc and Vancouver Section of ASQ Canada will be teaming up to assist the Vancouver Native Housing Society (VNHS) in the launch of their new Aboriginal Art Gallery in downtown Vancouver. The team of volunteers will be focusing their expertise on business process design and development using a combination new and established best practice tools. This project is an exciting consequence of a successful 2012 Social Enterprise Dragons event. VNHS is one of three award winners, all starting and growing social enterprises to support their vision and non-profit activities.

Jon Morris, JDQ’s president, says: “Assisting VNHS in their June 2012 launch  of the new Aboriginal Art Gallery allows us to apply LEAN tools to a start-up organization. There is a growing body of knowledge to support innovative start up enterprises and many social enterprises are in that stage of their life cycle. JDQ is delighted to be working with the ASQ Community Good Works team again in the joint effort to help and learn from the aboriginal community.”

“We are pleased to be working with JDQ and other volunteers from ASQ. Their expertise in areas of business processes, quality techniques and systems are proving to be invaluable to us as we move forward in preparation to launch our Urban Aboriginal Fair Trade Gallery”, reports David Eddy, CEO of VNHS, “They are great committed partners!”

“The Community Good Works team of ASQ (Vancouver Section) is looking forward to joining JDQ’s experts with VNHS’ launch of the new Aboriginal Art Gallery. Our pool of volunteers is ready to apply their expertise to help social enterprises to reach their goal of helping those in need,” says Slobodan Grcic, ASQ CGW Chair, “We are proud to have so many volunteers ready to use their professional knowledge to give back to their community.”
